Jayne Buckman-Owoo to be buried on November 4

The final funeral rites of renowned arts writer and actress, Jayne Buckman-Owoo will come off on Saturday, November 4.

The day will begin with the filing past of the body at the St Theresa Catholic church, Kaneshie, near Awudome roundabout at 7:30am.

The funeral mass will then follow at the same venue at 8:30am. the Thanksgiving Service  is on Sunday, October 5 at St Theresa Church at 9:30am.

The late Jayne Buckman-Owoo, a Staff Writer at Graphic Showbiz of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), passed on Friday, August 18, 2023, after a short illness. She was 49.

In a life devoted to the creative sector, Ms Jayne, as she was fondly known, spent two decades of her journalism career at Graphic Showbiz and was also a popular face on television who hosted popular programmes and on the silver screen featuring in movies.

Jayne Buckman-Owoo was one of the few journalists with Graphic Showbiz for many years now since 2001.

She wrote compelling stories, covered prestigious events and profiled celebrities such as Nana Ama McBrown, Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Majid Michel, Prince David Osei, Shatta Wale, Lucky Mensah, Reggie Rockstone, Okyeame Kwame, Praye and Kwaade, among a host of entertainment personalities and the creative sector in general.

In 2021, Jayne was honoured for Excellence in Leadership in the Creative Arts sector by Golden Age Creative Arts Awards (GACAA) and also presented with a citation for her tremendous contribution to the creative industry.
