KKD is Ghana’s Envoy to the Caribbean

MEDIA and Communication Specialist, Kwasi Kyei Darkwa (KKD), has been appointed the President’s Special Envoy to the Caribbean.

The former CEO of Class Media Group, renowned for his expertise in strategic communication and international relations, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

As Special Envoy, he acts as the personal representative of the President, implementing his directives in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and resident diplomats, fostering economic opportunities, attracting investment and tourism, facilitating trade, and building networks and partnerships for regional economic growth.

Expressing his gratitude, KKD said, “I am honoured by the trust placed in me to represent our nation in the Caribbean. I look forward to building stronger relationships, fostering collaboration, and highlighting the shared values and opportunities between our countries.”

With 25 years of leadership in media and strategic communications, brand-building, cultural diplomacy, among others, it’s been a long journey filled with learning, passion, determination and consistency.

KKD, also known as His Royal Blackness, has played pivotal roles in media management, public diplomacy, and fostering partnerships across various sectors.

He has built a strong reputation across multiple fields, including producing and hosting corporate and cultural events, managing advertising and promotions, and contributing to tourism and hospitality development, among others.

Before his new appointment, KKD was CEO of Class Media Group. He also served as Managing Director of The Finest Productions from 2009 to 2024, and as Public Affairs and Communications Director at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) from 2008 to 2009.

The Caribbean

The Caribbean is situated southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and the North American mainland.

It comprises more than 7,000 islands, islets, reefs, and cays.  

The Caribbean is also celebrated for its diverse cultures, long history, tropical climate, sun-drenched beaches and global influence in music, food, and tourism.

Some of the countries in the Caribbean include Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, The Bahamas, Belize, Guyana, and Suriname.
