Last Stop premieres tomorrow
SILVERBIRD Cinemas in Accra will tomorrow, March 28, 2025 play host to the premiere of Last Stop, directed by Kwabena Gyansah.
The red-carpet event is expected to attract top industry players, fans, and investors, further solidifying Ghana’s growing film industry.
Mr Gyansah who sees the premiere as more than a film launch said in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz that it’s a statement of the industry's revival.
“This is a celebration of Ghanaian storytelling and the opportunities ahead.
“This new era is not just a revival; it’s a complete transformation of our creative landscape. With increased funding and a global appetite for authentic storytelling, Ghanaian cinema is poised to shine brighter than ever”, he stated.
With recent hits boosting confidence in local productions, Last Stop is expected to continue the momentum, creating more visibility for Ghanaian cinema on the global stage.
Mr Gyansah believes the current momentum is creating unprecedented opportunities for local talent.
“For too long, our creative sector has been underestimated. Now, we have the backing and the platforms to tell our stories on a global stage.
“Our creative sector is re-energised and ready to tell stories that will captivate audiences locally and globally”, he added.
Mr Gyansah is optimistic about the ripple effects the industry resurgence will have on every facet of the creative world—from acting and directing to screenwriting, cinematography, and production design.
“The success of recent films has validated our potential, and it’s exciting to see how this will translate into more roles and better pay for actors, richer narratives for writers, and innovative techniques for technical crews.
“This isn’t merely about making films; it’s about creating an ecosystem where every creative professional can thrive”, he explained.
