My wife comes first before my children– Daniel Etim Effiong on family priorities
Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has stirred conversation among fans after sharing a view about the order of love within his family.
Speaking during an appearance on the Masplantion Podcast, the actor revealed that his relationship with his wife remains the most important in his household, even though he deeply cares for his children.
Etim Effiong said he believes a strong marital bond should come first because it forms the foundation upon which a family is built. In his view, when the relationship between husband and wife is healthy, it creates a better environment for raising children.
“I mean, that’s a good question. I would say yes. I love my wife more than my children,” he said.
“My wife comes first before my children. Although they have a really special place in my heart.”
The actor noted that giving priority to his wife does not reduce the affection he has for his kids but reflects his belief that the stability of the home largely depends on the strength of the marriage.
His remarks have since triggered mixed reactions online, with some social media users agreeing with his perspective on marriage while others argued that children should naturally take precedence.
Etim Effiong married media personality Toyosi Phillips in 2017, and the couple have built their family together while maintaining active careers in media and entertainment.
