Nero X: I didn’t support Mahama for personal gains
While a number of creative industry players who boldly campaigned for the then Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Mahama, have gotten appointments with the new administration, musician Nero X says he is not looking forward to any offer.
Campaigning for the NDC party was based on his strong belief in the abilities of now President Mahama to turn things around for the country.
In response to a question of whether he would accept a government appointment in a recent chat with Graphic Showbiz, he answered affirmatively but clarified that his support for President Mahama was not for personal gains.
He explained that he supported President Mahama to help the country choose the right leader and would take a post only if it matched his interests.
“Yes, I would gladly accept any position that aligns with my interests. However, my support for H.E. John Dramani Mahama in the last elections was not about getting an appointment but to help Ghana choose the right leader. As a patriotic citizen of Ghana, I believe we made the right choice,” he said.
Nero X dropped Low Key, a single he described as a personal song which reflected his music journey, on Saturday, March 29.(Read also: Young artistes must seek guidance from veteran artistes – Nero X, Chasing awards not my priority now –Nero X)
“Low Key is my latest single in 2025. It talks about my personal experiences in music over the years. First, I want to thank and appreciate everyone who has supported me from day one.”
“Secondly, I want to motivate my fans never to give up in life but to work hard and make money. And lastly, it’s also a way to let people know that I’m still around, working on great things, and keeping it ‘Low Key,’” he explained.
Nero X also revealed he has something cooking in the oven. “My team and I are planning to come out with an EP or album before the year ends. So, everyone should watch out for it. Keep streaming my songs on all digital platforms, follow me on social media, and share my works. I have a lot in store for my fans,” he stated.
