Paula Tabirih - Khoali is first woman to win top honour at ‘Forty Under 40 Africa’ awards
Paula Tabirih - Khoali, CEO of Bakari International, has etched her name into the annals of African history by becoming the first woman to win the prestigious "First Among Equals" award at the Forty Under 40 Africa Awards 2026.
The 37-year-old agribusiness entrepreneur, of Ghanaian and South African descent, took home the top prize at the glittering ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, Ghana.
In addition to the top honour, Paula also won the "Marketing" award for her outstanding contributions to reshaping Africa's agricultural future.
In her acceptance speech, Paula dedicated the award to African farmers, partners, and teams across the continent.
"I'm humbled and grateful for this Africa 40 Under 40 recognition. My vision, rooted in faith, has grown into a mission to elevate African agriculture globally. This award celebrates African excellence in agriculture and trade, showcasing bold entrepreneurship.
“Through Bakari International, we're bridging African producers and global markets, ensuring visibility, value, and respect for farmers. African products can compete and lead with strategy and integrity.
“I dedicate this to farmers, partners, and teams who make my work possible. This award proves purpose-driven work and integrity create lasting impact. I'm honored our work promoting African exports is recognized continentally.
“I dedicate this win to God, African farmers, and African trade's future. Africa's ready to lead, not just feed the world,” she said.
The Forty Under 40 Africa Awards recognized outstanding young leaders from 22 African countries, celebrating their achievements and impact.
Paula's groundbreaking victory marks a new chapter in African entrepreneurship and leadership.
