Raquel releases ‘I Won’t Cry’ video

After her smash hit single, Sweetio, made waves in 2011, sultry songstress, Raquel, has worked her way up the music ladder and her recent pieces have been evident of that stride.

Soon after the release of her I Won’t Cry song produced by Ben Kuslin Studios of One Mic Entertainment, the Lovi Dovi singer is out with its video.

Set in a living room with champagne and dark background to give it a romantic look, Raquel aptly defines the mood of the song with her act in the video.

The video, directed by Emmanuel Agyapong, was shot at locations in Airport Residential Area, Accra.

I Won’t Cry is a ballad which sees Raquel move from her comfort zone of fast and mid-tempo music.

She entreats single ladies not to hold on to men who don’t deserve their love but must muster the courage to let them go when they don’t meet their expectations.

She told Showbiz last Tuesday that her management, Black Star Entertainment, has resolved to invest adequately in her videos as a way of building up her brand.

“This song means so much to me because it reminds me of a past relationship. That explains why I was so emotional in the video,” she stated.

According to her, she is happy at the success of the song in countries like Nigeria, South Africa and Gabon even though it hasn’t made waves in Ghana.

Raquel, who held the Black Bold and Beautiful and Rapid Cupid shows earlier this year at the Bella Roma Night Club in Osu and +233 respectively, said she had a lineup of shows prior to the release of her new album this year.
