The Street of Gold Foundation, in partnership with MICE Africa, has officially launched the 10th edition of the Heroes Awards and Miss MICE Global 2025. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Accra City Hotel in Accra, recently.
Under the theme “Honouring Heroes, Empowering Innovation,” Miss MICE Global 2025 aims to celebrate excellence, encourage innovation, and highlight Africa’s growing role in the global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry.
The main events for both Miss MICE Global 2025 and the 10th edition for the Heroes Awards, are scheduled for Saturday, September 27 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Founded in 2016, the Heroes Awards was established to celebrate creativity, innovation, and effectiveness in the events industry. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most coveted and globally recognized competitions within the MICE and events sector.
The 2024 edition at the Alisa Hotel in Tema recorded great success, attracting wide participation and global engagement, and this year’s event is expected to reach over 11,000 event professionals worldwide.
Speaking at the launch, His Royal Panford, Founder and CEO of the Street of Gold Foundation, explained that the Heroes Awards is meant to recognise remarkable individuals and organisations making a positive impact in areas such as community, education, health, leadership, and the MICE sector.
“Excellence is about stepping outside the comfort zone, training with a spirit of endeavour, and accepting challenges with courage,” he said, stressing the importance of celebrating achievers while they are alive.
He noted that society often waits until people are gone to celebrate their achievements, citing the late NBA star, Kobe Bryant as an example, and urged Africans to honour those making a difference today.
This year introduces new award categories recognising destinations, venues, event technologies, and suppliers, ensuring that every aspect of the events industry receives recognition.
Mercy Thompson, Co-founder of the Heroes Awards, said the credibility of the process is one of the reasons why the competition continues to attract top global brands, agencies, and suppliers.
Categories include Outstanding Leader, Community Builder, Innovator, and Outstanding Team Player.
Alongside the awards, the Miss MICE Global 2025 pageant will highlight the role of youth particularly women in driving creativity, leadership, and innovation in the MICE industry. The pageant will provide a platform for young leaders to showcase their skills, talents, and solutions that can transform Africa and the world.
