The world keeps moving, but mine stopped - Choirmaster mourns Beverly Afaglo

A month after the burial of actress Beverly Afaglo Baah, her husband, musician Eugene Kwadwo Boadu Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, has shared an emotional tribute, reflecting on the pain of losing his wife and the life they built together.

In an Instagram post marking one month since Beverly was laid to rest, Choirmaster said although the world had continued to move, his own life felt as though it had stopped.

“It’s been a month already since u left us, and somehow the world has continued moving even though mine feels like it stopped,” he wrote. (Read Ghanaian actress and media personality Beverly Afaglo passes on)

He said he continues to miss Beverly in countless ways, particularly her voice, smile, presence and the everyday moments they once shared.

“I miss you in more ways than I can ever explain—the sound of your voice, your smile, your presence beside me, and all the little moments that I once took for granted,” he added.

Describing the emotional weight of her absence, Choirmaster said the experience had taught him that “grief is simply love with nowhere to go”.

He said he would carry that love with him for the rest of his life while expressing gratitude for the years they spent together.

“Thank you for the life we shared, the memories we made, and the love you gave me,” he wrote.

Choirmaster further pledged to keep Beverly’s memory alive, saying she would always remain part of who he is.

“You will always be a part of who I am, and I will honor you by carrying your memory in my heart every day,” he stated.

Beverly and Choirmaster were married on April 14, 2012, and their marriage was blessed with two daughters.

The couple’s family life was often an important part of Beverly’s public identity, with the actress balancing motherhood with her career in film, television and business.

Beverly, who was 42, died on May 24, 2026, after battling cancer.

She was laid to rest on August 8, 2026, following her final funeral rites at State House, Accra. (Beverly Afaglo: Tears flow in Tema as showbiz stars light torches at one week observance for the actress)

Her death triggered an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, friends, fans and other members of Ghana’s creative industry, who remembered her for her work as an actress, television personality and entrepreneur.

For Choirmaster, however, the passage of time appears to have done little to ease the pain of losing his wife of more than 14 years, as he continues to hold on to the memories of their life together.
