Togbe Ghana’s Go Green to promote healthy environment
In line with his commitment to promote healthy environment, Reggae musician David Kumordzi, popularly known as Togbe Ghana has released a new song, Go Green to enhance his campaign.
Produced by Zapp Mallet, the new song is aimed at raising awareness about climate change and promoting tree planting efforts.
Go Green urges Ghanaians to plant coconut trees to protect the coastal line and ensure food, water, and shelter for future generations.
According to Togbe Ghana, the initiative seeks to combat climate change by promoting sustainable practices and restoring Ghana's natural resources.
And with music being a universal language, he chose the medium to emphasize the call for safe environmental practices measures.
“As a musician, my role goes beyond doing music to entertain my audience but it is also important that I use my platform to educate and inform people about pertinent societal issues. For years, I have been leading this charge about safe environmental practices and composing song for it is just to register it deeply in the minds of people.
“Back in the day, we had songs like ‘Send The Girl Child To School’ promoting girl child education and the impact was great so I believe Go Green will have a similar impact, inspiring a new generation to take action on climate change and environmental sustainability,” he said.
Togbe Ghana called on Ghanaians to join the effort by planting a tree today and taking ownership of its growth.
The "Go Green" campaign is built around the "Go Green Riddim project, highlighting the importance of protecting the ozone layer, preserving the coastal line, and securing resources for future generations.
In his words, “This song is expected to inspire collective action towards a greener, more sustainable Ghana.”
