Usher 1: GH Dance industry needs media attention
US-based Ghanaian dance instructor, Usher 1 is charging the Ghanaian media to give attention to the Dance industry.
He mentioned that even though the various entertainment programmes draw relevant discussions on the other domains of the creative industry, the dance sector has been left out of the space.
In a chat with Graphic Showbiz yesterday, January 12, 2023, he noted that he was certain their inclusion will step up the interest and participation in dance as part of the creative works of entertainers.

"For instance, over the past two years, I have been religiously following a lot of the entertainment programmes including UTV's United Showbiz hosted by Nana Ama Mc Brown and I must say I love them since they serve the audience with interesting topics for the benefit and progress of the creative industry.
" However, a number of times, discussions about actors, musicians, comedians, spoken word artists among others have been on the board but yet to know or listen to that of dance sector," he said.
He entreated the various hosts and producers of entertainment programmes to equally channel some energy into the discussion of the dance domain.
" I believe this is a good call for the stakeholders and players in that space to change the way things have been.
" The arts and entertainment industry is not limited to just music films or theatre. There are many branches and they all deserve attention for the collective growth of the industry," he said.
Born Usher Frimpong, Usher 1 is a management team member of International Kizomba Awards USA, established by the Ghana Dance Association about five years ago to throw spotlight on the activities of dancers and the sector at large.

" The importance of dancers manifested at the Global Citizen festival which came off at the Independence Square last year.
" This is a good charge and call and I'm hoping that it will change the direction of our entertainment programmes going forward since other branches of the industry deserves equal attention," he added
