Third Bhim Skills by Livingstone Foundation comes off

The third edition of Bhim Skills, a skills training event organised by Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy's Livingstone Foundation came off at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Saturday, December 18.

About a 100 young people were trained in soap making, making of local drinks, making of pastries, wallpaper installation and glass/alluminium work.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz on the sidelines of the training session, Dr Louisa Ansong-Satekla, wife of Stonebwoy said this was the third edition so far.

"We held the first one for people with disabilities and the second one for those who had lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and we call this third one BHim of Hope to give hope to the youth and impact them positively."

"Last Thursday, we had a health screening at Ashaiman for about 5,000 people and it was very successful. It is all in preparation for Stonebwoy's concert on Tuesday, December 21 at the Grand Arena.

"Interestingly, one of the teachers Alimatu Sadia is from our second edition and she is here today to teach what she learnt, it is really inspiring,"she said.

According to Dr Louisa, Stonebwoy's foundation will market the products of the beneficiaries to enable them get more clients. "We will also talk to product providers to reduce the cost of their products and make them affordable for the young ones," she said.

Participants were equipped with fundamental entrepreneurship skills to navigate their way through the times of COVID-19.

The Livingstone Foundation is a non-governmental organisation with the vision of reducing the suffering of brilliant but needy and the vulnerable in society by providing monetary aid, technical aid, etc.
