Wiyaala brings attraction power to Blend Festival
Singer Wiyaala pleases audiences wherever she performs and she brings that attraction power to this year’s Blend Festival to be held on Saturday, February 14 at the Polo Club Gardens in Accra.
The Blend Festival was initiated five years ago by three friends in celebration of Blues and Rock & Roll music.
It, however, also has room for other contemporary styles of popular music. The festival has gently seeped into the hearts of many music lovers and the upcoming edition promises to be another enlightening experience.
Wiyaala has been smart enough to realize she didn’t need to be like everyone else to shine since 2012 when she gained national attention after being part of a trio that won the Vodafone Icons Mixed Edition contest.
She set out to create a brand of her own and the immense international visibility she current enjoys is proof that people all over the world have ready ears for intense creativity and originality.
Another performer on the Blend Festival bill that genuine music lovers would find exciting is Maami. She has been part of the Patchbay Band for a while but she has also been steering her own path as a solo act that deserves broader attention.
Other acts slated for the Polo Club Gardens event that kicks off at 6.30pm include The Blend Band and The Transit DJs. There will also be some surprise guest appearances on the night.
“The Blend Festival is one-of-a-kind. The sort of high octane entertainment it offers is rare on the usual Accra music circuit,” said Panji Anoff, the show’s technical producer. “So it is worth being there for the thrill”.
