Fairness must guide economic relief

Ghana’s economic recovery should mean relief for ordinary citizens.

Fuel prices have dropped and the cedi is strengthening, yet the cost of food, rent, and spare parts remains high.

Why then is pressure focused mainly on drivers to reduce transport fares?

If currency gains are real, reductions should begin where prices are first set, with importers and market suppliers.

Fairness requires shared responsibility.

Real reform must tackle root pricing issues, not just transport fares.
