Incompetence and obfuscation impede progress
We have a tendency as a people to seek revision of the design of our tools when we fail to deliver.
The revision suggested may be the instrument of establishment of the particular institution we serve or even parts of the Constitution itself.
But ruthless examination suggests that often we lapse into the incompetence which results from a desire to fudge issues and facts to please our benefactors who employ us or who place us on boards and institutions which favour us with useful allowances and perks.
Obfuscation naturally results in an attempt to maintain our credibility and self-respect.
A lackadaisical attitude at board and similar meetings thus develops and respected personalities are embarrassed by decisions taken with their acquiescence.
