Blue Crest, Lovely Professional sign capacity-building MoU

Lovely Professional University (LPU), a private university in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blue Crest University College to help build the capacity of its students.

The strategic partnership will provide students and stakeholders with exchange programmes, joint faculty research publications, internship programmes, among other programmes for a period of three years, which will be subject to renewal based on the fulfilment of agreement by the two parties.

The agreement is an effort by the institutions to ensure that they continue to share ideas, collaborate and engage students across the globe and work together to create opportunities for their students.

The Rector of Blue Crest University College, Dr Sujith Jayaprakash, and the Associate Director of Division International Affairs at LPU, Nitesh Mahajan, signed for their respective institutions.

Benefits

Speaking after the signing, Dr Jayaprakash expressed his delight in the partnership as he said it would serve as a platform to enhance the experience and knowledge of the students.

“Partnerships and collaborations are key for the success of every institution, so we believe that this partnership is going to help the Blue Crest brand grow further,” he emphasised.

Dr Jayaprakash explained that the partnership would benefit the two institutions in diverse ways, such that student exchange programmes would be organised where students from LPU could come to Blue Crest for internships and vice-versa.

He added that a programme would be introduced where students after completing the first two years of their courses at Blue Crest, would go on to finish the last two years at LPU, and the programme would also run simultaneously for the students of LPU.

Dr Jayaprakash disclosed that the institutions were also planning for international conferences, faculty exchange programmes and also to collaborate on research activities.

Acknowledgement

For his part, Mr Mahajan said his institution was honoured to be in partnership with one of the fast-growing universities in the country.

He was hopeful that the collaboration would yield good benefits for both parties to call for renewal with time as they geared up at supporting in their technical know-how and knowledge transfer for the Ghanaian students studying at Blue Crest.

“This partnership will not only bridge the gap but will also enhance a lot of opportunities for the students involved,” Mr Mahajan said.

He stated that his institution was looking forward to the first programme to be undertaken under the agreement, which was the Hindu Afro Fashion Week, where students would showcase their designs and culture at the fashion event in September next year.

The first phase of the fashion event will take place in India and the second phase in Ghana.
