CCTU Council member donates GH¢80,000 to university
The Executive Chairman of ADK Consortium and a Council member of Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), Michael Krakue, has presented a cheque for GH¢ 80,000 to support the university’s ongoing infrastructure projects.

The donation, which was warmly received by the management of the university, would go towards the much-needed painting of the administration block and the advancement of other key infrastructure developments to improve the institution's overall learning environment.

Presenting the cheque, Mr Krakue underscored the importance of infrastructure in promoting an environment conducive to academic success.
He praised CCTU for the significant strides it had made in its specialised area of renewable energy, a field in which the university had earned recognition both nationally and beyond.
Mr Krakue said as a member of the university council, he found it essential to contribute to the university's vision of becoming a leader in that field, particularly as infrastructure played a crucial role in shaping the image and experience of an institution.
He noted that a well-maintained campus went beyond aesthetics: "It enhances the student experience by fostering a sense of pride and ownership among learners.
"Supporting these initiatives is not just about buildings; it’s about creating a space where students can thrive academically and feel a deep connection to their school," he explained.

The Vice-Chancellor of CCTU, Professor Kweku Adutwum Ayim Boakye, was full of appreciation for Mr Krakue’s thoughtful gesture commending him for his commitment to the development of the university.

He highlighted that the donation had arrived at an opportune moment, as the university was preparing to launch a plan for its 40th-anniversary celebrations, which would include the establishment of an endowment fund.
Prof. Adutwum Boakye stressed the significant financial challenges facing higher education institutions in Ghana, noting that the government alone could not meet all the demands of growing universities, especially in the area of infrastructure.
“We know that many universities across the country are facing similar challenges, and the government cannot address all these issues alone. This donation helps reduce the strain and provides us with the ability to continue developing our campus to meet the needs of our students,” Professor Boakye emphasised.
He, therefore, appealed to the general public, alumni, and other private individuals and organisations to follow in Mr Krakue’s footsteps by supporting the university in any way they could, assuring the public that every contribution, no matter how small, would be put to good use.
"We invite everyone to be part of this transformation. Your contributions will help us build a brighter future for the students of CCTU and for the nation as a whole," Professor Boakye said.
