Foundation donates uniforms, school bags to Akode M/A Basic School pupils

The EOA Heart for Kids Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated school uniforms and bags to pupils of the Akode M/A Basic School in the Eastern Region.

Valued at over GH₵8,000, the items meant to encourage the pupils to attend and remain in school, were officially handed over to the headmaster of the school Godfred Opare, and the schoolchildren at a short ceremony on the school’s premises.

The presentation was witnessed by members of the foundation, school officials and community members.

Presenting the items, the Founder of EOA Heart for Kids Foundation, Eugene Ofei Ansah, said the organisation was committed to quality education.

He said the initiative was part of “our ongoing commitment to supporting education and uplifting vulnerable children across Ghana.

“At EOA Heart for Kids Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education in a safe and supportive environment.

“Unfortunately, many children in our communities face barriers such as lack of proper uniforms, school supplies and other essentials that hinder their ability to learn effectively.

These challenges often result in absenteeism, low self-esteem and ultimately dropout,” Mr Ansah said.

Appreciation  

Receiving the items, Mr Opare expressed appreciation for the support, emphasising that it would make a lot of impact in the lives of the children.

He also called for more assistance for the students in the area to reduce the dropout rate in the area.

“Education is not just about textbooks and classrooms; it’s about empowering children to dream, achieve, and become agents of change in their communities.

“This donation is a reflection of our belief that investing in children’s education is investing in Ghana’s future.

We are committed to working hand-in-hand with schools, parents, and community leaders to create an environment where every child has the opportunity to excel.

“Our foundation recognises that sustainable change can only happen through collective effort.

While we are proud to contribute in our small way, we also call on other organisations, government agencies, and individuals to join us in supporting education initiatives. 

“Together, we can build a society where every child’s right to quality education is upheld,” he added.
