NSMQ 2023: See the six schools that have qualified for the semi-finals so far

In the latest development of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), three Senior High Schools have earned their places in the semi-finals. Prempeh College, Pope John Minor Seminary SHS, and Opoku Ware emerged victorious in their respective quarter-final clashes yesterday.

Prempeh College dominated their opponents Mawuli School and Abetifi Presby SHS with an impressive 34-point lead, securing 57 points compared to Mawuli's 33 points and Abetifi's 30 points.

Pope John’s SHS displayed their prowess, accumulating 48 points to triumph over St. James Seminary SHS and Presby SHTS, Aburi.

In a closely contested final quarter-final match, Opoku Ware School clinched their spot in the semis with 45 points, narrowly surpassing Osei Tutu SHS (43 points) and St. John’s School (18 points).

Prempeh College wins 2021 #NSMQ

The semi-finals are set to feature a showdown between Wesley Girls' High School, Achimota School, and St. Louis SHS on Thursday, October 19, 2023, after they already secured their positions.

Meanwhile, the quarter-finals are set to conclude with three exciting clashes.

Tamale SHS will face off against St. Augustine's College and Keta SHTS, while Kumasi Sec. Tech School will go head-to-head with Yilo Krobo SHS and Mfantsipim School. Additionally, Ghana Sec. Tech. School will take on Accra Academy and defending champions Presbyterian Boys SHS.

The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz commenced on October 6, 2023. As a highlight of the celebrations, this year's NSMQ is being hosted in two distinct regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. This historic occurrence marks the first time the National Championship spans across two regions, with KNUST serving as the venue for the Preliminary four stages and the Grand Finale scheduled at the National Theatre.
