St. Augustine’s College marks 95th Anniversary with grand celebrations

The St. Augustine’s College Past Students Union (APSU) is set to commemorate the school’s 95th Anniversary, bringing together alumni (APSUnians), students (Augustinians), staff, and well-wishers for a week-long celebration of the College’s rich legacy and continued impact on education in Ghana.

Under the theme “Leveraging Innovation Towards Economic and Social Sustainability for the Next Generation,” the anniversary seeks to reflect on the College’s storied past, honour achievements, and inspire the next generation of leaders.

The celebrations, scheduled from March 12 to March 16, 2025, will feature a series of engaging activities, including an inter-house quiz competition, mentorship sessions, a medical outreach, a grand durbar, an awards ceremony, and a thanksgiving service. Notable events also include a bonfire night, a regimental parade, and a fireworks display to symbolise the school’s enduring spirit.

A key highlight will be the handover of a legacy project by APSU 2000, the hosting year group, to contribute to the College’s infrastructure development. The Speech and Prize-Giving Day on March 15 will honour outstanding students and faculty, with various dignitaries expected to grace the occasion.

The APSU Secretariat has also provided an update on financial compliance among year groups, urging all members to meet their obligations. The APSU Annual Congress, where alumni will discuss the way forward for the Union, will take place on March 14 at the College Assembly Hall.

With APSUnians from across the world expected to return to Cape Coast for the event, the 95th Anniversary promises to be a defining moment in the school’s history, celebrating perseverance, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
