UCC Governing Council approves implementation of GTEC directives for Pro- VC to act as Vice-Chancellor
The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has approved the implementation of the directives by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto to take over and act as Vice-Chancellor in the interim.
The Governing Council communicated its decision to the university community after an emergency meeting on Wednesday.
“The University Governing Council wishes to inform the University Community, its stakeholders and the general public that at an emergency meeting held on 24th September 2025, Council decided to abide by the directives from Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC),” the notice a copy of which has been seen by Graphic Obline, signed by Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, the Registrar and Secretary to the Council stated.
“Accordingly, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto is to act in the interim,” it stated.
“The Council wishes to assure all stakeholders and the University Community that the University remains stable. Academic and administrative activities continue without disruption,” it added.
