UHAS Vice Chancellor Professor Lydia Aziato gets second term appointment of four years

The appointments of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho, Professor Lydia Aziato, and that of the Registrar, Miss Yaa Amankwaa Opuni have been renewed by the University Council for another four years.

At a special meeting of the Council on Friday (November 21, 2025), the appointments were renewed to take effect from August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2030.

The Vice Chancellor told Graphic Online's Alberto Mario Noretti in Ho on Wednesday (November 26) that she appreciates the confidence reposed in her.

She pledged to work diligently with the UHAS team and all stakeholders to develop the university within its focus and mandate to train healthcare professionals.

Professor Aziato further gave an assurance to work with others to increase programmes, research, students, staff, and infrastructure, and ensure UHAS continues to be the number one health training institution in Ghana.

For her part, the registrar also promised to remain committed to the university’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

She expressed gratitude to the UHAS Council for the renewal of her appointment and called on the staff, faculty, management, and the council to support her in the execution of her duties.
