ADC President Dr Bright Sogbey nominated for Nobles International Award
The President and Founder of the Africa Development Council (ADC), Dr Bright Atsu Sogbey has been nominated for the Nobles International Award in recognition of his impactful leadership and scientific innovation.
The nomination was announced by the Eminent West Africa Nobles Forum (E-WANF), organisers of the annual awards that honour distinguished West Africans who exemplify integrity, accountability and professional excellence.
Dr Sogbey, a Senior Research Engineer at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, is respected for his contributions to nuclear engineering, materials science and industrial development.
He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MPhil in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Ghana. His work spans a multifaceted range of technical areas including construction materials design, corrosion control, renewable energy, industrial production processes, engineering materials testing and project appraisal.
Dr Sogbey played a key role in establishing the Ghana Welding Bureau with support from the Petroleum Commission and other national stakeholders.
A member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, he has been previously honoured by the International Union of Materials Research at the World Materials Summit in Washington, USA, in 2011. His academic contributions include more than twenty published research works covering materials engineering and nuclear science.
In addition to his scientific work, Dr Sogbey serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, where he supports the development of the next generation of engineers and researchers.
The Nobles International Awards, organised by E-WANF, recognise eminent individuals across West Africa for their role in socio-economic development. Past recipients include senior public servants, business executives and professionals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and upheld high standards of corporate governance and integrity.
