Adentan Municipal Assembly supports Police
The Adentan Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has presented a new Nissan pickup to the Adentan District Police Command.

The vehicle was purchased with the internally generated funds of the assembly at the cost of GH¢98,000.
The donation followed an appeal the immediate past Police Commander of Adentan District, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Stephen Ahiatafu, made to the assembly to assist the police with a vehicle to support their operations in the area.
Increase visibility
At a short ceremony to hand over the key to the vehicle at Adentan, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Adentan Municipality, Mr Benjamin Angenu, was optimistic that the pickup would make the police more visible to help reduce the crime rate in the area.
“We hope that the police will use the vehicle to patrol the municipality to enhance their visibility to curb crime,” he said, and urged the police to use the vehicle for the intended purpose.
He appealed to the police to regularly maintain the pickup to disabuse the minds of the public that vehicles donated to the police “do not last to serve their purpose.”

The Adentan District Police Commander, Superintendent Felix Adepo, expressed his gratitude to the assembly for the support which he said would help the police to be more mobile and visible in the municipality.
Former Police Commander honoured
Earlier, the assembly presented a citation and a double-door refrigerator to the immediate past Police Commander of Adentan District, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Stephen Kofi Ahiatafu, for his contribution to improving security in the area during his term in office from 2009 to 2011.

“On assumption of office, there were only three police stations within the district command. In view of the competence you displayed, the Oyibi Police Station was added; police facilities at Lakeside, Frafraha and Adentan SSNIT shopping mall, Quartey Papafio and Pantang East Visibility Points were expanded,” the citation stated.
