Allied oil rebrands
Allied Oil Ghana Limited, a private oil marketing company, has held a ceremony in Accra to announce its new name “Allied”.
The event, was used also to unveil Allied’s new Logo.
As part of the rebranding, the company announced its partnership with a US-based petroleum addictive company, Afton Chemical Corporation.
Allied’s partnership with Afton Chemicals will ensure that petroleum products such as DriveMoreSuper+ and DriveMore Diesel+ are introduced into the Ghanaian market.
Allied vision
Speaking at the relaunch at the company’s new oil service station at Mpeheasem, near Trinity Theological College in Accra, the Executive Chairman of Allied, Mr Dan Kofi Okudzeto, said the rationale behind the rebranding of the company was to offer quality services to Ghanaians.
He said the company was established 16 years ago to provide specific tailored petroleum products for the Ghanaian market.
“Over the years, we have adhered to this goal, developing and promoting our brands for an ever evolving yet competitive market,” he added.
Mr Okudzeto said Allied aimed at strengthening the brand for its customers and distributors, adding that “we want to make Allied the most preferred retailer of choice for petroleum products”.
According to him, Allied had created direct jobs for over 300 people and indirect employment for 1,000 Ghanaians.
Touching on the new petroleum products, Mr Okudzeto said DriveMore range of fuel products would ensure efficiency and reduce cost, adding that the products would enhance fuel power and protect car engines.
Government’s support
The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who unveiled the new logo said the government’s commitment in supporting local businesses to attain the needed growth remained a top priority.
“Local firms such as Allied will receive the government’s attention and assistance because they contribute to the development and growth of the economy, especially in terms of job creation,” he said.
Mr Buah therefore, commended the management and board of Allied for the effort to enhance their operations by providing quality petroleum products to Ghanaians.
He also called on oil marketing companies to uphold high standards of professional principles in the industry.
That, he said, would enable them to attract the desired market to boost their operations and create more job opportunities for the youth.
Afton chemicals
Afton Chemical’s Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, Mr Alan Horwitz, said the partnership between Allied and Afton Chemical would provide more services for Ghanaians.
According to him, the company planned to introduce more of its products onto the Ghanaian market through Allied.
Touching on the new products, Mr Horwitz said the new products would provide enhanced power and acceleration, clean and maintain vehicle engines, prevent rust and corrosion, enhance engine life and reduce emissions.
