AME Zion Church consoles families of flood victims

Members of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church have extended their deepest condolences to all those who lost their loved ones and possessions during the June 3 flooding that hit some parts of the country, especially the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

“The Board of Bishops of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church, the Presiding Bishop of the Western West Africa Episcopal Area, Bishop Seth O. Lartey, the entire clergy and lay membership of the AME Zion Church, Ghana, we extend our deepest condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones and possessions during the recent flood and fire disaster,” a statement signed by the Chief of Staff of the Church, Rev. Dr Hilliard K. Dela Dogbe, said.

It said “in the midst of our grief, we wish to encourage all our political leaders and citizenry of our nation to be circumspect in our utterances on account of the disaster.

“Let us stand together to embrace responsible lifestyles and good citizenship in all our daily living and activities toward environmental cleanliness and in obedience to the laws of the country,” it said.
The countries which constitute the Western West Africa Episcopal Area are Ghana, Togo, Cote d’ Ivoire and Liberia.
