Ex-convict allegedly sealed teenager's mouth with super glue, raped and murdered her – Police
The Western Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest and remand of a 45-year-old ex-convict, Kudjo Ntow, for the alleged rape and murder of his wife's 17-year-old niece, Olivia Kwofie, at Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.
The incident occurred in the early hours of June 1, 2026. According to a police statement issued on June 4, Ntow allegedly sealed the victim's mouth with super glue, forcibly raped her, and then murdered her before fleeing into hiding.
The police report indicates that at approximately 3:30am on the day of the incident, a witness named Samuel Kingsford Kwofie was on his way to his rubber plantation when he heard someone shouting for help near the School B area, close to the Fire Service Station at Agona Nkwanta. Upon approaching the scene, he found Olivia Kwofie sitting naked on the ground with both her hands and legs tied with a rope.
After untying the victim and while escorting her to the police station, the suspect reportedly attacked them from behind, struck the victim with a cement block, and fled again.
Police who responded to the scene found the teenager lying in a pool of blood with multiple cuts on her face. She was rushed to the Agona Nkwanta Polyclinic for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead.
Following a manhunt, the Regional Police Intelligence team, together with Agona Nkwanta Police, arrested the suspect on June 2 at his hideout in Nsuaem.
Ntow, who police confirm is an ex-convict, was put before the Appollo Circuit Court in Takoradi on June 3. He has been remanded into prison custody and is scheduled to reappear before the court on June 17, 2026.
