Mr Obeng made a complaint to the airport police at 12:30 a.m. last Friday that his boss had physically assaulted him.

Mr Obeng had intervened in a confrontation between his boss and an old lady which had displeased Mr Twum-Boafo.

Brutalised

According to the complaint made to the police, Mr Twum Boafo waited till they had reached his residence before attacking his driver, who stood helpless.

Not even the intervention of Mr Twum Boafo’s mother succeeded in calming him down.

The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr Freeman Tettey, confirmed the incident to the Daily Graphic, saying Mr Obeng came to the police with a swollen left cheek and a bloodshot left eye.

Awaiting medical report

Mr Tettey said he was issued with a medical report form and added that the police were awaiting the return of the form in order to take the necessary action.

A source close to Mr Obeng, who told the Daily Graphic that he sought treatment at the LEKMA Hospital, said Mr Obeng had bled from the left ear and complained of difficulty in hearing from that ear.
