Ankor in his report to the police admitted his guilt and was arraigned before the Adjabeng Court 1. He was remanded in police custody.

Presenting the facts to the court, presided over by Miss Arit Nsemoh, Chief Inspector Gregory Yeboah said Ankor and the deceased, alias Batman, were friends with no permanent place of abode, but hanged around Odawna at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

According to the prosecutor, on August 19, 2015, at 12 midnight, Amoako and two others were sitting by the fireside at CP, behind the Vodafone office at Circle when one of their friends fell asleep and his phone fell out of his pocket.

Chief Inspector Yeboah said Amoako then picked up the phone and left the scene.

When the owner of the phone woke up and was searching for his phone, Ankor informed him that Amoako had picked it so he went to Amoako for it.

Chief Inspector Yeboah said Amoako got offended and allegedly picked up a pair of scissors to stab Ankor. This resulted in a fight but they were separated by eye witnesses.

Ankor and Amoako went back to sit around the fireside, and while there, Ankor picked up a piece of wood and hit the deceased till he became unconscious.

Chief inspector Yeboah said when Ankor realised that Amoako was unconscious, he hired a taxi and took him to the Ridge Hospital in Accra, but they were referred to the 37 Military Hospital where Amoako was pronounced dead on arrival.

The prosecutor said Ankor later deposited the body at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital morgue and reported the incident to the Neoplan Police Station where he was detained for investigation.
