Mensah, who appeared before the Adjabeng Court 1, presided over by Miss Arit Nsemoh, pleaded guilty to stealing and not guilty on the charge of attempting to steal.

The court ordered him to either sign a bond to be of good behaviour for a year or in default spend four months in prison, as well as pay GH¢120 to the court and GH¢34 for the cost of the stolen item.

Presenting the facts to the court, Sergeant Lois Konadu said on November 29 2015, at 12:59, Razak went to the Achimota Shallom Shell shop.

While the attendants were busy working, he took an Adidas Spray valued at GH¢33.80p and pretended he was going to pay for it, and went on to wrap it with a paper.

He, however, opened the exit door and run away before the complainant, Miss Efia Boadiwaa Ampoful, a shop attendant, could call for help from her colleagues.

Upon playing the CCTV camera recording, Razak was confirmed to be the culprit.

The prosecutor said on the same day, at 6:30pm, Razak changed his shirt, went to the shop and used the same modus operandi.

He said Boadiwaa identified him and alerted her colleagues, and when he was searched, Razak had on him, a Bel –Aqua bottled water, an After Dark body spray and a Listerine mouth wash.

According to the prosecutor Razak had no money on him to indicate that he could pay for all the items and was arrested.
