The General Overseer of the Ghana chapter of the Shiloh United Church of Christ Apostolic Worldwide, Most Reverend Samuel R. Addae, who gave the advice, said the country needed trustworthy people in all sectors of the economy to help propel growth.

Most Rev. Addae was addressing a large congregation at the Kumasi Jubilee Park during the ordination of 124 priests. The ceremony also coincided with the church's 30th anniversary celebration.

He said the country needed selfless and dedicated servants with a sense of patriotism in order to realise its dreams.

Choose wisely

The man of God told the congregation to choose wisely as the country went to the polls in November, pointing out that “it's not about a party with good propagandists and orators, but rather a party with excellent passion, programmes and policies to deliver.”

He cautioned voters to note that once a mistake was made in choosing the wrong leader, it could have dire consequences for the masses and generations yet unborn.

In a sermon, the Bishop of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Rev. Prof. Osei Safo-Kantanka, charged the new priests to teach their congregations the ideologies and teachings of the gospel and admonish them to live chaste lives.

He, however, urged them to accept concerns and criticisms from their members.
