Akyem Oda Pentecost Church renovates Antenatal and Postnatal Clinic

The Women’s Ministry of the Akyem Oda Area Church of Pentecost has renovated the Antenatal and Postnatal Clinic at the Oda Government Hospital at a cost of GH¢70,000.00.

The rehabilitation involved the painting of the walls, replacements of doors, louvre blades and T and J’s, water closet equipment, electrical works, provision of ceiling fans and 100 plastic chairs.

Female members from all 26 districts in the area voluntarily donated cash to finance the project.

Before inaugurating the facility last Tuesday, the Head of the Women’s Ministry in the area, Deaconess Mary Ampadu, on behalf of the ministry, donated large quantities of toilet rolls, liquid soap and insecticides to the hospital authorities for distribution to the female in-patients at the facility.

She said the women renovated the facility in response to an appeal made by the management of the hospital.

Deaconess Ampadu stated that the rehabilitation was carried out as part of the Women's Ministry’s corporate social responsibility for facilities in its catchment area.

She advised the management of the hospital and the patients who would patronise it to take proper care of it for it to last long.

Development projects

The Oda Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Pastor Samuel Acquah, who offered prayers to bless the facility, said the gesture was among a number of development projects the church had planned to undertake in the area to raise the quality of life of the people.

The Senior Midwifery Officer in charge of the facility, Grace Antwi, thanked the Women’s Ministry in particular and the Church of Pentecost in the area for the gesture.

She seized the opportunity to appeal to well-to-do individuals and non-governmental organisations to assist in the general development of the hospital to enable it to provide quality health care for its patrons.

Other speakers at the ceremony included the Head of Nursing and Midwifery of the hospital, Christiana Denteh, and the wife of the Area Head of the church, Comfort Acquah.
