
Family Health University holds open day
The Family Health University (FHU) has held an open day to allow parents, guardians and prospective applicants to interact with the school administration on the courses offered at the university.
Students from various schools including the Nungua Senior High School, O’Reilly Senior High School, Labone Senior High School, Osu Presec Senior High School, La Presec Senior High School, Osu Salem Senior High School and Teshie Technical Training Institute, toured the academic buildings, libraries, student accommodation facility, Family Health Hospital, and research centres, to give them a firsthand impression of the facilities that make the university one of the leading institutions in the health sector.
Open day
The open day event featured various activities to give future students a glimpse into life at FHU, including interactive sessions with faculty and presentations on the university's wide array of programmes.
Faculty members from various departments made presentations on their respective courses and the various career choices associated with them.
Students were also given the opportunity to ask questions about the admission process, and support services available to them, among others.
At the School of Nursing & Midwifery, the Dean, Dr Patience Aniteye, provided students with an in-depth overview of essential nursing skills.
The Librarian at FHU introduced students to the modern advancements in utilising E-Library facilities.
She demonstrated how these resources enhanced learning and made academic access more efficient for students.
Welcome
The Director of Quality Assurance, Dr Omobolanle Ozoya, who welcomed the students, emphasised that the institution had achieved its current university status through hard work.
She also highlighted the impactful contributions of the vibrant alumni, making significant strides across the nation as health professionals.
The university, she said, was dedicated to fostering academic excellence, research innovation, and student development adding, “ With a commitment to providing an inclusive and dynamic learning environment, FHU empowers students to pursue their passions, develop critical skills, and make meaningful contributions to society”.
