In presenting the items, Ms Appiah said the logistical support was in recognition of the rigorous nature of election coverage which required journalists to stay overnights in the office.
"We are aware that some of your staff members will sleep in the office, especially the night after the election, to get all the updates to the general public. That is why we at Latex Foam decided to provide these mattresses and pillows to you so that they will provide you with some comfort to work well," he said.
He added that because the Daily Graphic was the country’s most credible newspaper, Latex Foam believed that many citizens would be relying on its content and other platforms of the company for the needed information on the outcome of the elections.

Mr Nahlous called on the Daily Graphic to live up to its mandate of delivering accurate and timely information on the elections to help diffuse fake news that had the potential to create confusion in the country.
For his part, Mr Yartey expressed gratitude to Latex Foam for the gesture and gave the assurance that the mattresses would be put to good use.
He added that the GCGL was aware of the onerous responsibility to provide leadership in terms of credible election reporting and that the company was prepared to deliver on that mandate.

The Editor said as had always been the hallmark of the Daily Graphic, every actor in the electoral process would be given fair and equitable coverage in line with the constitutional mandate of the media.
The gesture is the latest support and partnership by the multiple award-winning foam manufacturers to and with GCGL.
At the peak of the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, Latex Foam supported GCGL with quantities of nose masks to protect staff from infections and attendant conditions.
Latex Foam has also partnered with GCGL to support the University of Ghana Hospital in the past.
