Commitment
Speaking to the media after the visit, the Deputy Minister in charge of Communications, Shamina Muslim, reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of the bereaved families, particularly the children.
“As the President has pledged, the government will not abandon the families of our heroes.
We will walk with you through this painful journey," she said.
Ms Muslim said the government had launched the Child Support Fund to assist the children of the departed, especially those still in school.
She added that donations to the Fund had begun pouring in from individuals, institutions and well-wishers.
Ms Muslim encouraged citizens and all well-wishers to channel their contributions through the government communication portals to ensure the sustainability of the initiative.
“For the older children, conversations are ongoing on how to support their aspirations, whether in completing their education or in finding meaningful employment; the government commitment remains the same,” she said.
To the family, Ms Muslim added that “the President stands with you, and the entire nation stands with you.
The memory of your loved ones will not fade.
They will remain heroes in this country.”
