Japanese Ambassador lauds GIWC
The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Naoto Nika, has lauded the Ghana International Women’s Club (GIWC) for supporting the underprivileged in society.
According to him, GIWC’s support for the poor, particularly women and children, has brought considerable relief to many people in Ghana.
While opening the 20th annual bazaar organised by the GIWC, Mr Nika urged members of the club to not relent in their efforts to assist the vulnerable in society. He commended the club for raising funds in pursuit of its main objective of bringing smiles to the faces of the poor.
The bazaar, which is an annual event, brought together people from all walks of life. On display were a variety of items, including artefacts and textiles.
The President of the club, Mrs Helen Apah, said the club had over the years supported the needy in society and would continue to do so by finding innovative ways of raising money to achieve its objectives.
She appealed to philanthropists and organisations to help the club reduce poverty among the public.
