Former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta has applied to INTERPOL for his name to be removed from the red notice as a wanted person.
According to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), who applied to INTERPOL for Ken Ofori-Atta to be placed on the red notice, in October 2025, the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files notified Ghanaian authorities that Mr Ofori-Atta had applied for the removal of his name from INTERPOL's Red Notice.
The Commission therefore requested Ghana's response to Mr. Ofori-Atta's application.
According to the OSP. Ghana's response was duly submitted on October 22, 2025.

In a statement, the OSP explained that by communication dated November 7, 2025, the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files notified Ghanaian authorities that Ken Ofori-Atta had filed additional arguments in an addendum and the Commission requested Ghanaian authorities to file their response to the additional arguments by November 21, 2025.
The proceedings are still pending and the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files is still studying the case.
During the pendency of the proceedings, Ken Ofori-Atta's name, image and details are often redacted from public view until a final determination is made, according to the OSP.
"The public is urged to disregard all publications to the contrary as borne of mischief and misinformation," the OSP added in a public notice issued today [Nov 19, 2025].
