The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Richard Ofori Agyeman, visited the scene of the incident for a briefing.

He described the situation as a sad spectacle.

The Ashanti Regional Fire Commander, ACFO Peter Tetteh said upon reaching the scene after receiving distress calls, they were confronted with the severity of the fire due to highly combustible materials in the mall, including materials used for the construction of the building.

He indicated investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.
