Last Monday, executive members of the association called on the President at the Flagstaff House to thank him for the visit and the inauguration.

They were led to the Flagstaff House by the Paramount Chief of the Nakpali Traditional Area and the President of the Association, Naa Alhaji Dawuda M. Jawara.

In March 2014, the President joined the predominately farming community of Kworli- Nakpali to inaugurate their association.

President’s appreciation

Speaking during their visit, President Mahama also thanked them for the visit, noting that “this is the peak of the farming season and as farmers you must be very busy.

"So for you to leave your farms and come all the way to Accra, I feel very honoured and privileged to receive you.”

He praised the members of the association for coming together as a cooperative, adding that the success of their association would complement the government’s efforts to get farmers to form cooperatives.

“For you yourselves to have taken that initiative and form a cooperative, I think that the least the government can do is to support and encourage you because it makes it easier for the government to reach you,” President Mahama said.
