The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Gladys Aikins Asare who opposed the bail application, said the accused persons needed to be remanded to enable the police to conclude investigations into the matter.
She further told the court that the accused persons were a flight risk.
The case has been adjourned to January 19, 2026.
Prosecution’s facts
Narrating the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Asare said the victim (name withheld) visits the Mesopeh family frequently to run errands and perform household chores for them.
She said on December 30, 2025, the victim had an encounter with the accused persons’ seven-year-old brother leading to a misunderstanding.
The prosecutor said the misunderstanding between the victim and the seven—year-old boy led to a fight.
In the process, the victim pushed the seven-year-old boy, hitting his head against the ground.
The seven-year-old, according to the prosecutor, reported the matter to his family.
The accused persons searched for the victim and subjected her to severe beating, leading to pain and injuries, the prosecutor told the court.
She further told the court that a video recording of the incident was shared online leading to the arrest of the accused persons for prosecution.
