A statement issued Thursday quoting the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani, said the Managing Director of the MMT, Noble John Appiah, and his deputy John Awuku Dzuazah have also been asked to step aside for investigations to commence into the operations of the Company.

“The President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has asked Brigadier General I.B. Quartey (Rtd.) to take over the management of the company pending the conclusion of the investigations,” the statement said.

Workers at the transport operator early this week embarked on a short-lived strike to protest what they said was mismanagement at the place, and on Wednesday angrily locked up the office of the deputy managing director, John Awuku Dzuazah, whose dismissal the workers have been baying for.
