Multimedia Group reports Ken Agyapong for threatening journalist

The Multimedia Group, operators of Joy FM and Luv FM, has lodged a formal complaint at the Ashanti Regional Police Command against the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, for allegedly issuing a threat against the life of Erastus Asare Donkor, a journalist with the Multimedia Group.

A statement issued by the Multimedia Group on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, and addressed to the Deputy Ashanti Regional Regional Police Commander and the Crime Officer, said Mr Agyapong, who is also the Chairman of the country's Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament has made life-threatening comments against the Multimedia journalist for his "journalist work that the latter undertook during the recent shootings and killing incident at Ejura, and his appearance before the Kingsley Koomson Committee investigating the incident."

According to the Multimedia Group, Mr Agyapong sometime in the recent past "issued similar threats against Ahmed Hussein Suale, who at the time had undertaken some journalistic works; Ahmed Hussein Suale was later horribly killed."
