The police have arrested a 30-year-old farmer, Emmanuel Kwofie, for allegedly assaulting his wife, Diana Mensah, 25, at Domeabra in the Agona Nkwanta Municipality of the Western Region.
Kwofie, a native of Dixcove, was arrested at Agona Nkwanta at 7 p.m. on October 12, 2026, following the circulation of a video showing him allegedly assaulting his wife.
A police statement issued by the Western Regional Police Command said preliminary investigations had established that the suspect and the victim were married and lived together at Domeabra.
The police said the incident occurred on October 8, 2026, when Kwofie allegedly accused Mensah, a second-hand clothing dealer, of having an extramarital affair and assaulted her.
The police statement dated October 13, 2026 said a good Samaritan rescued Mensah and sent her to the Agona Nkwanta Polyclinic, where she received treatment and was discharged.
