Police Chief asks community to renovate police station

Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye has appealed to community leaders of Beposo in the Sekyere Central District to assist renovate the town’s police station to help boost security in the area.

The police station is in a sorry state of dilapidation with roofs of almost all the offices leaking when rain falls. The station does not have washrooms, giving a lot of discomfort to the police staff working there.

DCOP Boakye, who was on a tour of the District, was visibly shocked at the sight of the wretched structure, saying that it did not befit the status of the community.

He called for its immediate renovation to enable police personnel work in a decent environment to enable them give of their best in protecting the law-abiding.

The Regional Commander re-echoed his resolve to bring crime to the barest minimum in the region, adding that his administration would not hesitate to support communities with a population of 20,000 with a police station.

He advised the police personnel to make policing accessible and visible to the people by creating more snap checks and step up patrols in areas where armed robbery and other violent crimes are common.

He also paid courtesy calls on Nsutamanhene, Nana Adu Agyei Bonsafo III, and Beposohene, Nana Boamah Kwabi IV.

The entourage again visited the graves of two personnel who lost their lives when attacked by robbers whilst on duty at the Otuasekan Rural Bank in 2001.
