Prove source of your recruitment letter – Timbillah to victims of scam

The Commissioner of Police in charge of Human Resource Development, Mr Patrick Timbillah, prior to his interdiction and house arrest on Friday had vowed to go after victims of the police recruitment scam for them to prove where they got their appointment letters from.

At a press conference last Monday, Mr Timbillah said the victims would be arrested for possession of forged documents and the onus would be on them to prove their source of that document, “failing that, then we would have to take them on,” he said.

He had said that police recruitment was not like selling of food stuffs on the market and advised people wanting to be enlisted in the service to be patient but insisted many of them didn’t want to wait to be recruited in batches.

Mr Timbillah was interdicted and placed under house arrest by the Police administration on Friday over his alleged involvement in the recent police recruitment scam.

His signature and name were on the appointment letters that were issued to the victims of the scam.

The police have managed to arrest some of the brains behind the scam and they have named COP Timbillah as their accomplice.

According to the police administration, the arrested suspects have provided an evidence of text message conversations between them and Mr Timbillah.

Mr Timbillah has denied the allegations.
