‘Security must be collective responsibility’

The Minister of the Interior, Mr Mark Owen Woyongo, has underscored the need for citizens to tackle safety and security as a collective responsibility.

According to him, all Ghanaians were responsible for bringing to the attention of the appropriate authorities, issues that could endanger life and property for remedial measures to be taken.

“We should not wait for the government to do everything. Rather, collective responsibility is needed for our own good.”
Mr Woyongo made these remarks when he opened the 5th West African Health, Environment and Safety (WAHES) conference and exhibition in Accra.

The three-day fair was on the theme: “Strategic enforcement for environmental safety, improving infrastructure in housing and sanitation powered by solar energy for men and women in uniform: the role of public-private-partnership.”
