See the areas that will be affected by ECGs and GRIDCos planned power maintenance on October 21
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) have announced that several areas across the Greater Accra and Central Regions will experience power interruptions on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, due to planned maintenance works.
In separate statements, the two power companies said the exercise forms part of efforts to enhance the reliability and quality of electricity supply to customers.
The works are expected to take place between 7am and 7pm in some areas, while others will be affected between 9:00am and 5pm.
In the Greater Accra Region, ECG will carry out maintenance works from 9am to 5pm in Ashongman Estate, Lakeside Community 688, New Legon, Adjowa Adjewa Building, Doblo, Hebron, Medie, Sarpeiman, Satellite, and surrounding communities.
The Central Region will also experience similar activities between 9am and 4pm. Affected areas include Gomoa Antseadze, Gomoa Odumasi, Gomoa Manso, Gomoa Kyerenkwanta, Gomoa Obiri, Gomoa Amanful, Gomoa Formanya, Gomoa Kyeren, Gomoa Ngyeresi, Gomoa Brofo, Gomoa Sampa, Gomoa Adaa, Gomoa Ohuan, and Gomoa Tweikukrom, among others.
Other communities to be affected in the region include Swedru township, Bungalow, Aboso, Otabilkrom, Manhodwe, Wawase, Jacobkrom, Mensakrom, Nyakrom, Otsenkorang, Nkwantanando, Nsaba, Duakwa, Namanwura, Obosumase, Ekwamkrom, Gomoa Manso, Mangoase, Osamkrom Prisons, Abaasa, Ayensudze, Abonyi, Asafo, Kwanyako, Bewadze, Mankrong Town, Mankrong Junction, Obratwaowu, Akwakwaa, Besease, Achiase, Bibikuma, Afransi, Kwaman, Eshiem, Mozano, Gomoa Mankessim, Oguaa Odina, Fante Bawjiase, Duoto, Kofikum, Aboano, Otaiprow, Tawiakwaa, Nyakokwaa, and Kofi Ansah.
Meanwhile, GRIDCo will undertake a separate shutdown exercise in parts of the Central Region between 7am and 7pm. The affected areas include Praso, Jukwa, Hemang, Abrafo, Efutu, Asebu, Fosu Township, Assin North, Assin South, Abura-Dunkwa, Yamoransa, Edumfa, Abramkampa, Fante-Nyankumasi, Cape Coast Metropolitan, Mankessim, Anomabo, Briwa, Elmina Township, Komenda, Ekumfi, and parts of the Ajumako District.
Both ECG and GRIDCo have apologised to customers for the inconvenience the maintenance works may cause, assuring that the exercise is necessary to improve system reliability and prevent unplanned outages in the future.
