The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of the Greater Accra, Central and Ashanti regions will experience power outages on Thursday, September 25, 2025, to allow for planned maintenance works.
The company said the exercise, which will last between seven and eight hours depending on the region, forms part of efforts to improve service delivery and ensure a more reliable power supply to customers.
In the Greater Accra Region, power will be interrupted from 9am to 5pm in Odorkor, Darkuman, Darkuman Zongo, Paa Dan, Israel, Alhaji, New Bortianor, Red Top, Sonaplast and surrounding communities.
In the Central Region, the maintenance will take place between 9am and 4pm and will affect parts of Gomoa Dawurampong, Gomoa Osedzi, Gomoa Debiso, Gomoa Abrekum and their environs.
The Ashanti Region will also see a similar exercise between 9am and 4pm in parts of Agona, Wiamoase, Jamase, Nsuta, Beposo, Mampong, Mampong Hospital, Ghana Water Company, Kwamang, Amoaman, Brofoyedru, Jeduako, Kumawu and nearby areas.
In a statement, ECG apologised for the inconvenience the outages will cause, stressing that the temporary disruptions are necessary to enhance the efficiency and stability of the power network.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise as a result of this exercise,” the company said.
The power distributor has in recent months increased its maintenance activities nationwide as part of efforts to minimise unplanned outages and strengthen the distribution network.
