Shama Traditional Council announces death of Nana Binnah
During his reign, Nana Binnah brought development projects to his area.
Among many of his initiatives were the release of land for the Aboadze Thermal Plant and the establishment of the Shama Senior High School. He also played a pioneering role in the establishment of the Shama District Assembly.
Mr Amissah-Arthur paid tribute to Nana Binnah for his contribution to the development of the area and the country as a whole.
He lauded the role played by the chief, who was a retired goalkeeper of Sekondi Eleven Wise Football Club, in education, energy and agriculture.
He appealed to the people of the Shama Traditional Area to forge closer co-operation and strive to work towards the development of the traditional area, saying, “That is the only due we can pay our beloved departed chief.”
The Acting President of the Shama Traditional Council, Nana Kwamena Wienu II, who led the delegation, described the late chief as “King Solomon” because of his uprightness.
The funeral of the late chief will commence on April 15 and he will be buried on April 20, 2013.
