He said the theft of telecom equipment and materials was affecting the delivery of quality service to customers, and urged all stakeholders to help deal with the menace.

He was speaking during a tour of facilities of Vodafone Ghana at the airport city in Accra.

Mr Sarpong gave the assurance that the government would continue to create the enabling platform for the communication operators to provide the needed quality for communication to thrive.

According to him, the Vodafone brand put the company on a higher pedestal and commended management for ensuring local content.

He noted that out of the 10 management team members, only one of them was an expatriate while five of them were women.

The Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Mr Haris Broumidis, said he was optimistic that the continued deliberation between the ministry and Vodafone would help curb the current problems facing the sector.

He said he was hopeful that if all the current challenges were reduced to the barest minimum, customers would enjoy a better quality service.
